What We Are Doing

St. Luke’s of the Mountains Episcopal Church is committed to serving the community in which we are located.  St. Luke’s offers it’s space to anyone in the community who needs a place to meet and is home to a number of Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, the Kiwanis Club of La Crescenta, the Boy Scouts, and other community organizations.

In October of 2010 St. Luke’s, in association with the Crescenta Valley Drug and Alcohol Prevention Coalition, opened the Fire House, a youth center located on the St. Luke’s campus.  The Fire House is open on Tuesday evenings from 6pm to 9pm as a drop in center for high school age youth in the community.  Dinner is served, there is a place for studying, a game room and a fireplace room to just hang out.

On Thursday mornings from 7:30am to 8:30am the Fire House is open for students from Rosemont Middle School who need a place to go on Thursday mornings because school starts late on Thursdays.  The kids can hang out, eat breakfast, play pool, or finish homework before walking up to school.
